Druk Stars Football Academy was founded with a clear purpose: to provide affordable, high-quality football development to families across Australia, regardless of background or prior experience. We believe access to structured football shouldn't be limited by cost or circumstance.

We're a non-profit organisation. Every resource goes back into the academy: better coaching, better structure, and better outcomes for the players we serve. Our focus is holistic. We develop athletes who are technically capable, mentally resilient, and strong in their character.

Druk Stars Football Club was founded in 1998 in Thimphu, Bhutan, as a small school-based initiative created by a teacher to give students an opportunity to play football. From those humble beginnings, the club grew into a national force, winning the Bhutanese championship in 2001 and completing an unbeaten 2009 season to claim a second national title. That same era saw Druk Stars represent Bhutan internationally at the 2010 AFC President's Cup. Widely recognised for discovering raw talent and nurturing it into national-level players, the club played a defining role in strengthening grassroots football in Bhutan. That same commitment to youth, community, and development is what Druk Stars Football Academy now carries forward in Perth, Western Australia.

Where it all began.

Druk Stars FC was founded in Thimphu in 1998, a school-based initiative started by a teacher who simply wanted to give students a place to play. With limited resources and a great deal of belief, the club grew steadily, earning promotion through Bhutan's league system and building something far beyond what those early sessions suggested was possible.

By the early 2000s, Druk Stars had become a genuine force in Bhutanese football, winning their first national championship in 2001, then returning stronger in 2009 to go the full season unbeaten and claim the League. That form earned them a place in the 2010 AFC President's Cup: Bhutan's window onto continental competition.

Legacy

A club that built the nation's game.

Druk Stars FC became known not just for titles, but for what happened after them. The club had a clear philosophy: find raw talent, develop it properly, and give young players the structure to grow. Many who came through the ranks went on to represent Bhutan at the senior international level.

That commitment to youth, to fundamentals, discipline, and a deep understanding of the game, shaped the local football landscape. Druk Stars FC didn't just win trophies. It built a generation.
